Healthier.ph environment comes from our interest in preserving the nature around us. Although sometimes it is more costly and operationally intensive, we focus on maximizing reuse, while minimizing refuse. Note: please return your bottles.

Our Story & History

The history of kombucha dates back over two millennia. Accounts and legends differ, but the general consensus is that kombucha originated in the Outer Manchuria region of East Asia, which is now divided between China and Russia.
Although the first documented consumption of kombucha was by Emperor Qin Shi Huang of the Tang Dynasty in 221 BC, kombucha has not yet gained much popularity in China. On the other hand, across the border in Russia, kombucha found a steady home and by the 20th century, it had spread throughout the country and began gaining popularity in Europe and then the world.
Our story also shares kombucha’s origin in Outer Manchuria, where our brewmaster Michael’s grandfather spent time and learned the art of brewing. Several decades later, Michael had his first taste of kombucha while spending childhood summers with his grandparents and learned how to brew and tend to a SCOBY.
Kombucha remained a sporadic hobby until 2020, when the pandemic forced everyone to stay at home and seek ways to improve their health and immunity. It was during this time that Healthier.ph was founded, and our journey began.
